Something Good- Day 314-315

Yesterday we decided to decorate for Christmas. Although I am usually adamant about making sure Thanksgiving comes first, I knew it would make my sister happy. I think that given the year we have had, Thanksgiving can share with Christmas this year.

Today was our first real snow here. The roads were slippery, and most people chose not to go out if they could avoid it. The bank was fairly slow, which meant we got out right on time. We ate homemade dinner and then sat down to watch a show.

Something Good- Day 297-299

We spent most of Friday night packing for our trip to see family. I did spend some time with a friend that I had not seen in a while, as well.

Saturday morning, I went to get an oil change and have my tires serviced. Afterwards, I donated plasma, and we went out for lunch. We arrived at my brother’s house a little later than planned, but the kids were excited to see us.

Today was pretty mellow. We had home church, then watched some movies and played with the kids. At the end of the night, we took the kids for a drive to see Halloween decorations.

This has been a busy week at work, trying to fix problems for customers. I have been working with this couple who had a very frustrating situation with their account and were ready to leave the bank over it. Luckily, I was able to get it resolved for them. The wife was so grateful that she brought all this food to the bank as a thank you. I was just happy I could solve this for them because it is important to me that people have their needs met.

After work, we spent time with a friend and showed her a house that has amazing Halloween decorations. Here’s just a small glimpse of it.

Something Good- Day 293

I had a pretty good day today. I have been feeling a lot better about things lately and feel like things are getting easier. We did some more driving around to see Halloween decorations today. There were not as many houses in our area with large decorations, but we did find a couple cool houses. I was also able to “pay it forward” for someone today who was looking for cat litter. We had just bought some to have extra on hand, but I remembered all the people who helped us when we needed it and wanted to share the love.

We had a friend over for lunch today. We repurposed the pork roast we made last night into meat for tacos. It wasn’t quite as tender and flavorful as my normal carnitas but still good. Afterwards, we went for a drive to see Halloween decorations. We saw some pretty cool houses and made stops to take pictures with the beautiful sky in the background.
