Something Good- Day 293

I had a pretty good day today. I have been feeling a lot better about things lately and feel like things are getting easier. We did some more driving around to see Halloween decorations today. There were not as many houses in our area with large decorations, but we did find a couple cool houses. I was also able to “pay it forward” for someone today who was looking for cat litter. We had just bought some to have extra on hand, but I remembered all the people who helped us when we needed it and wanted to share the love.

Something Good- Day 292

We had a friend over for lunch today. We repurposed the pork roast we made last night into meat for tacos. It wasn’t quite as tender and flavorful as my normal carnitas but still good. Afterwards, we went for a drive to see Halloween decorations. We saw some pretty cool houses and made stops to take pictures with the beautiful sky in the background.

Something Good- Day 165-166

We visited a friend in Montana yesterday. It took a couple hours of driving to get there, but it was a nice drive through green mountains with lots of trees. It was nice to spend time with her again and have fun. Afterwards, we went to another friend’s house and had pizza.

Today we went outside and planted our tomato plant. I really hope it survives because our garden died last year, so we started much later this year in hopes that the plants will do better. We had a friend give us some flowers to pot as well, which are doing good so far.

Something Good- Day 48

My something good for today is getting home safely. We hit a blizzard on our way home today. The snow was heavy, and visibility was low. Luckily, it only lasted about 20 miles. After we got through the worst of it, we saw a bad crash with multiple cars stuck in between the two sides of the freeway. We narrowly missed another car that was also part of an accident. It cleared up after that though, and the rest of the trip had clear skies. I was grateful to make it home safely after that.

Tickets, Timing, and Tissues

It felt like a T day today. But since I don’t drink tea, I’m having hot sauce instead. 🙂 Corny joke, I know, but the world needs a corny joke every once in a while.

Anyway, last week started off with me getting stopped by a cop 10 seconds after getting on the freeway. And… since I didn’t have a Utah license yet, he gave me a warning to get it within 10 days. So, today is the 10th day and I officially have a Utah license now. Fun stuff.

In addition to that, I started getting sick on Sunday and was full on sick yesterday, but miraculously I have hardly felt sick at all today. So even though I’m still a little bitter about the ticket, I am grateful for my good health.

If you’re wondering where timing plays into all of this, basically the timing of these problems was pretty good. I mean, tickets are never good, but at least I was having a good day when it happened. I still cried and was pretty upset about it, but I was able to get over it and do what I had to do.

There’s a lot of good things happening in my life right now and I can’t wait for all of the exciting things planned this weekend. So all in all, life is pretty good. (Just make sure you don’t go the speed of traffic when you happen to pass by a motorcycle cop that was stopped on the side of the road. It doesn’t end well.)
