Something Good- Day 316

I had work off today. It was Veteran’s day, so the bank was closed. We met up with one of my sister’s former teachers for lunch. It was fun to get to know her and for my sister to be able to see her. Afterwards, we did some bargain shopping and got some amazing deals.

Something Good- Day 302

Today is my sister’s birthday. We left my brother’s house early this morning to spend some time with a couple of her friends on our way back home. We also stopped a couple times along the way to shop and eat. We were able to find the last book of a series she has been collecting, as well as several movies and books at the local thrift store. We ended the night with one of her favorite desserts, pumpkin cheesecake.

Something Good- Day 301

I took my nieces and nephews to a couple pumpkin patches today. They had a lot of fun going down slides, playing in corn pits, riding on wagons, and petting animals. We picked out a large pumpkin and stopped at the store to buy juice to drink. It was a fun day, and most of the children had fallen asleep by the time we returned home.

Something Good- Day 300

Can you believe we are on day 300 already? We are so close to the end of the year.

Today, we did a photo shoot with my two week old nephew. Afterwards, we went out to lunch. Then, we took flowers and a pumpkin to the cemetery for my nephew that passed a few years ago. We ended the day with a delicious homemade dinner and a movie.

Something Good- Day 297-299

We spent most of Friday night packing for our trip to see family. I did spend some time with a friend that I had not seen in a while, as well.

Saturday morning, I went to get an oil change and have my tires serviced. Afterwards, I donated plasma, and we went out for lunch. We arrived at my brother’s house a little later than planned, but the kids were excited to see us.

Today was pretty mellow. We had home church, then watched some movies and played with the kids. At the end of the night, we took the kids for a drive to see Halloween decorations.

Something Good- Day 283-284

I was exhausted last night and fell asleep while writing this. A couple good things happened yesterday. My sister made stuffed bell peppers for dinner. Then we went to a friend’s house to watch a movie. The most exciting thing though, was my 4th nephew was born! I’ll get to go visit him and my brother’s family in a couple weeks.

Today we went to the zoo because they had a community appreciation day. We got in for $1 and a can of food. We had fun walking around and got free cotton candy, which I haven’t had in a very long time.

Something Good- Day 269-271

Friday we went to a straw maze with some friends. It was somewhat frustrating, and my eyes started stinging, so we left without finishing it. On the way out though, there was a frozen yogurt worker that let you spin for a prize. We all got prizes and went to cash them in for our yogurts.

Yesterday we went to Mesa Falls. Afterwards, we went to Five11 Main for dinner. The food was really good and we enjoyed ourselves.

Today we unplugged our upstairs fridge to defrost it. We are going to try to get it out before the end of the week to put the old one back in. My sister thought the slabs of ice we broke off the inside of the freezer were fun to play with. We also played some games and watched a movie tonight.

Something Good- Day 268

I have been listening to audio books on my commute for the last week or so. I just finished the second Hunger Games book, Catching Fire. It was so good! Then, we watched the movie tonight. It wasn’t as great as the book, but it was fun to see the differences and have some background into the characters’ thoughts.

Something Good- Day 262-266

I have realized that it doesn’t do me much good to come up with one good thing every day if I don’t actually do it every day, so I’m going to try to be better about posting this every night, even if it is not perfect every time.

But for now, I’ll catch up on the last few days. We have been short staffed at work since Friday. The nice thing about that is my boss has been buying us lunch, so we can have a working lunch instead of our usual hour break. On top of only having two tellers on Friday, our system failed overnight and the transaction program we use was out of service for the first half of the day. The day went surprisingly well though and aside from a couple minor setbacks, we had a pretty smooth day.

Saturday, we got another cat! I told my sister that it was fine as long as he was a garage/ outdoor cat because our indoor cat does not share space well. Then, we spent the day with friends. I bought pizza and dropped my sister off to watch movies while I went to donate plasma.

Meet Albus Collin (in case you can’t tell, my sister is a Harry Potter fan)

We spent a lot of time with the cat on Sunday and had some church time with my sister’s family.

Monday was another busy day at work since our assistant manager had to go home due to possible Covid exposure. I was a bit overwhelmed, but my coworkers are awesome and helped calm me down. We made cookies with the kids Monday night, and I ate quite a few cookies.

Tonight we watched a movie I had rented from Redbox since they gave me a free rental. The kids were looking forward to pumpkin painting/ carving, but we decided to do that tomorrow instead.
